Project Solution

‘Sound of Vinyl’ aims to showcase the various vinyl record stores in Melbourne in hopes of drawing in new audiences to the niche hobby of vinyl record collecting. To execute a visually engaging publication, characteristics of each vinyl record store were translated through illustrated drawings to add a pop of personality and to differentiate each store from one another.

The grain and dust textured artwork interpret a distressed and vintage sense of a worn-out 80s record cover with a modern twist. Red was used throughout the publication to give sense of urgency and to convey the energic feeling you get when listening to your favourite album.
